All the time we've been married
we've shared our time
Half of it at your home
The other part alone.
It was such a shock to find
Despite the longings of our hearts
And dictates of society
We were happier living apart.
I have a secret second life
When I'm not with you;
I've turned into a part time wife
With a part time love for you.
Of course you have your secret life
You think it's safe from me;
but as with every other wife
Your secrets are not that to me.
But things have changed,
And so have we: and for a start
We spend half our time at my home,
The other half apart.
Though I hated your home
Your hatred of mine is more;
I find myself a part part-time wife
Seeing less of you than before!
